Since I did my master's here. I think they filed my case under EB1...I need to re-check. If this is the case then how long does it take. Yes I'm an indian.

I doubt if a Masters qualifies for EB1. But if you filed under EB1, then you should be able to file I485 immediately as that category is CURRENT. Check and confirm the category your employers filed and post your question again.

Thank you. I don't think there's such a thing for I-140 probably because things are not as complex as they are for an I-485. They just check for a valid labor certification wherever necessary, experience letters and the company's ability to pay, that's it.

Please refer to the sec. 8 CFR 214.2 h(11). As per USCIS regulations, the employer is required to notify that the employment relationship has been terminated so that the petition is canceled.

When you start your own company arent you the employer or part of the ownership? Sorry if I am missing something here

Its legally allowed the employer and employe can be the same person...but will be treated as two different entity...I dont have any other info..need to research.

I E-filed my EAD application and sent the supporting documentation to the location on the confirmation page. To day I see the following notice:
"We attempted to deliver your item at 1:51 PM on June 11, 2008 in MESQUITE, TX 75185 and a notice was left. It can be redelivered or picked up at the Post Office. If the item is unclaimed, it will be returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later."

Is there something I can do to resolve this?
I sent the application to the following address:
USCIS TEXAS SERVICE CENTER
Atten: E-File I-765 PO BOX: 852401
MESQUITE, TX 75185

Dont worry that is the common message for USCIS PO Box...Your mail will be @USCIS

I have applied for my 485 in July because then the PD's were current. Now the PD's are moved back . Does that i will get my GC delayed too. Does the processing of 485 is related to PD's . I thought the PD's are only related to the dates when you can apply for 485 not processing. Correct me if i am wrong.if PD's are also related to getting GC's then what the I-485 processing dates?

You like my drawing? Thank you very much. :) I'm not much cop at the fantastic Photoshop stuff - a lot of these guys seem to be able to do them blindfold (Eilsoe, Edwin, I'm talking about you here :) ). I tend to stick more to line art. I did write a tutorial on how to do it for kirupa.com. It's buried under Flash MX - Special Effects - Line Art or something similar. It's cheating really, as I draw by hand first, scan in then trace in Flash. But sometimes you can get really nice effects.

I'm about to try playing around with Fireworks now for those animations. Stupid of me really, I've got it here on my PC, but I never thought of using it. Duh... Fingers crossed it'll work out. As far as I can tell, it's Imageready that's bumping up the file size...

hi boney. excellent advice so far. i'll just add that you should also take into account how one camera "feels" in your hands vs. another. you might use that as a tie-breaker or a major decision point in your purchase. but luckily for us most of the manufacturers have a different feel, including grip sizes, curves, location and operation of the controls, etc.

Hi kumhyd2,

I am in same boat. What i am thinking is, just work for that employer
for say 1 year or so and then invoke AC21. Then you should have any issues.

I 140 : approved last month
I 485 : July 07 filer passed 180 days
GC Process : Substition Labor / Future employment

The future employer is threatening to withdraw the I 140 if I dont comply with his financial terms.

I heard that if I 140 is approved and 485 is pending for 180 days, even if the employer withdraws I140 , there isn't much we need to worry. Is this true. currently on h1 which is expiring next month 6th. To convert to EAD do I need to do anything specific and send an update to USCIS?

Yes it is possible to apply for H1b, it will be a new H1B. You will have to go outof the country and enter using H1 to readjust your VISA status

ND : Aug 9, 2007
I-140 (EB2) approved in Nov 2006 (Single I140)
NC Cleared Oct 2007
Biometrics Updated by USCIS on Feb 2009
Case Preajudicated on Apr 13 2009 after response to EVL Rfe received by USCIS.
Last slud on Apr 14, 2009.

I opened SR's on 3rd Sept 2009 to check the status of my I-485 and got a disturbing email that I am in EB3 category and visa not available. Opened another SR to clarify this but did not get proper reply. Also they said they cannot correct the EB category.
Went for an infopass today and the IO told that my current EB classification is E37 and my spouse as E39. This means that I am in EB3. (See GC codes - GREEN CARD CATEGORY CODES (http://www..com/usa-discussion-forums/i485-eb/125892951/green-card-category-codes))

Look a like USCIS has put me in incorrect EB classfication. My Attorney said he will write to USCIS but I wanted to know if I can do anything to get this corrected.
I wanted to know if anyone faced similar issue and how to fix this .
Is there a normal/expedited way to contact USCIS-NSC to correct this type of issues?
Because of this mistake I am seriously affected and losing precious time when the dates for EB2 are current.

Since this thread is open and dont want to wast resouce on new thread. I want to ask people those who had already filed 485/EAD/AP that did anyone has taken photos at Walgreens.

I am getting $7.99 for taking 2 photos at Walgreens($48 for 2person with 6 photos deal) in Milwaukee. Whereas in Kinko's I am getting deal of $13.50 for first 2 photo and rest 4 photos for $13.50 ($54 for 2 person with 6 photos deal) in Milwaukee city area.

Now question besides money I want to know which one is worth taking chance for taking a picture interms of quality.
