In my opinion, one of the more intriguing product announcements from Nikon today was the Coolpix 8700. If it improves significantly from the Sony, that could be a killer product. Right now, Canon is lacking a bit in the true consumer DSLR market. But then again, PMA is right around the corner. The Sony has Zeiss glass and 28mm WA. But the CA and Noise are horrible. Isn't the Nikon 8700 has same sensor size as the Sony 828? Wait and see how the Nikon performs in those deaprtments!

I know this is irrelevant in a way but see it from a different angle for one moment. There is no other forum where you can get any information about these H1 employers who are playing games using retrogression. This is the only forum where most of the people on H1 are related to some desi consulting company and can share their experiences which would help other people who are in huge pain due to the unfair practices of their existing employers.
I would recommend the administrators to create a separate area on this forum where people can share these experiences and find genuine employers.

Hello NC-ians,
I recently moved to NC, Used AP to for travel and the stamp in the I-94 says AP valid till May 2009, Have a approved I-797 H1 till 2011, also have EAD valid till 2010, what do they need to issue new license from outofstate person ?
Please share your experience.

Hi, I wanted to know if it is possible for me to maintain my H1 status (and my wife's H4) status while re-entering the US using I-131 Advance Parole document without a valid H1 visa stamp in my passport.
Here's my situation: -
1. I have been on H1 status for the past 6+ years.
2. My current employer filed for an H1 renewal/extension petition for years 7-9 which has been approved and we have the approval notice.
3. My wife's H4 renewal petition has also been approved.
4. We both have filed for I-485 Adjustment of Status which is pending with USCIS due to retrogression.
5. Our H1 & H4 visa stamps in the passport expired in September of 2009.
6. We are planning to leave the US for about a month in Nov-Dec and do have valid I-131 documents for purposes of re-entering.
At the port of entry, can we show our H1/H4 approval notices to the IO and request that he stamp our new I-94s for a H1/H4 status?

I changed my job recently, I'm starting up with new GC application with my new employer as I had passed only 140 stage with my previous GC application of employer and I couldn't get a chance to file my 485. I have 12 plus years of total IT experience. My question is related to the section in the PERM application for my major field of study. I have a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from good university in India , finished in 1996. My academics and work experience were assessed with US equivalent study and it's evaluated as Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems by qualified and expertized education evaluator. My current company lawyer told me that he would mention it as Computer Information Systems in my PERM application. Is it correct to mention in my perm application for my major field of study as Computer Information Systems?

Hello,
I had seen no issues travelling wih out receipt notice . But I got my H1 stamped till 2010 . I received my receipts yesterday and I know some one who received EADs after travelling to India with out receipts . Remember this is only my personal expereince and not sure if this is a standard .

First of all sorry to open a new thread. My PD is March 06 EB2. My i-485 reached uscis on July 2.
Is it advisable to change jobs? I'm planning to join bearing point consulting comp where they would start GC only after one year. As you guys know consulting job is quite unsecured. Only advantage with the new company is career growth.
Or should I wait for the outcome of lawsuit

I will be remoting in from a different state. My employer would not file a new labor condition application which is required.
If the employer is the same and working remotely is an option, then why move from H1B to EAD. Why not keep the current status (full time) and work remote?
