yep EAD is linked to your 485 application and not your employer. especially after 180 days of 485 filing a lot people consider themselves free to jump the boat with very little to no issues.

Can employee pay 140 premium processing fees ?
This is my understanding PERM has no fees to department of labour. Is that right ?
Can employee may attorney fees for PERM ?

I am sorry this may have been discussed before,.
If 485 from current company is denied, can I use i-140 and EAD and join a different company and have my status safe.. If so, what will be my next steps and what will jhave to be applied again. Current company , lets say will not revoke 140.

Let her come on her own (H1/B2) to the US and then you can apply for spousal visa to extend her stay.
Here's my situation in briefest form. I'm engaged to a woman in the Philippines. She worked as a domestic helper in Kuwait from about 2005 to 2007, a period of about 2.5 years total.
I understand that as we move forward on our K1 application (I'm an American just be clear) she'll be required to submit police reports for anyplace she has lived for more than 6 months. She doesn't have such an item from Kuwait, and it seems nearly impossible to obtain such a report. The websites all say that this document is only given to 'current residents'.
How can we obtain such document, and what if we can't? It seems unfathomable that the US Gov would request a possibly unobtainable document and then permanently deny our chance to live in the US together, if we are absolutely unable to obtain this document?
Does anyone have any advice, or can tell me what happens in a situation such as this?

The whole GC process is based on future employment which your employer undertook to give you on your getting GC. If your employer (who let you go) is still committed to that, you are fine, but that is unlikely. We got H-1B 7th year extension approved (through Premium processing) at CSC on 06/12/2008. The extension of stay was also approved. We received the I-797C (courtesy copy) and travelled to India with it (along with all the relevant documentation for the H-1B visa stamping) at Chennai. We now realize that we need to I-797A and for some reason the company's legal dept did not receive this yet. The legal dept usually receives both I-797A and I-797C. The chennai consulate does not accept I-797C for stamping.
What are our options here. Though I-140 is approved and I-485 is pending for us, I had not applied for EAD/AP since I plan to continue with my current employer (agreed it was a mistake that I did not apply for the AP). I am with my family now here in Chennai and have to return to the US at the end of July. Will the USCIS send us a duplicate since we never received the original I-797A. The other option is to file I-824 but the processing time is crazy long. Is their expedited processing available for this due to the urgency of the situation? Please help with your valuable inputs.

my wife is US citizen , applied for permanent residency (green card) almost 6 months back , my interview was 2 days back, everything went thru alrite, the immigration officer said at the end of interview , " your case been aproved, but we did not get the background chk from FBI , as soon as we get it we are going to mail you the green card "

Here are some considerations:
IF you are laid off .... in this economy, if you are still holding your job, then the chances of you losing it are low, so be optimistic.
But, in case you are laid off:
a) How would you support yourself and family in US plus your son's medical bills? Wouldn't it be cheaper to be in your home country (unless it is UK/Europe)?
b)The only visa that I can think of is the visitor visa, but on that visa, you can stay in US only 6-m at a time

I am currently working on a fulltime H1B and my GC process is going on with second stage (I140) in progress. Now my old employer wants me to work parttime for them which I agreed upon but this is a possibility only if I have a parttime H1B applied w.r.t old employer which I am thinking to apply for it and work parttime. But my question here is does this effect my GC processing? If it is what are the effects? Please reply me back. Thanks a lot.

It should not. Go to the any INS office after you arrange for an appointment on line and ask tehm to replace your I-94 and to write the correct name.
Your case has been approved and tehre is nothing to do other than the above. My son been thru teh same process and when he applied for the visa abroad nobody asked him him at all about the error.

But I noticed that the attorney has done a typo in my middle name. she added 1 extra letter in the middle. can anyone please let me know if this would create any problem for me getting the H1B transfer approval and what is the way to correct it? Since I have already left my old job, I am kind of worried. Please reply back if anyone has come accross or aware of such case.

Finally USCIS has corrected the processing date typo. The dates are not back to original track.
